Lake Wörthersee & Lido Reifnitz

With 19,39 km² the Wörthersee is the largest lake in Carinthia and with an average water temperature of 25°C in summer it is also the warmest alpine lake. The pleasant bathing temperature is especially popular with summer tourists, as you can swim until well into September. A special feature of Lake Wörthersee is its milky-turquoise color, which is created by the lime-rich water, and especially in summer the water is idyllically colored. In addition, the range of water trend sports on offer throughout Lake Wörthersee is constantly growing, which means that additional guests are travelling to Lake Wörthersee, especially to extend the season. In addition to sailing, water skiing and parasailing, new water sports such as wakeboarding are becoming increasingly popular and important at Lake Wörthersee.

Pyramidenkogel

On the south side of the Wörthersee at 851 m above sea level is the observation tower "Pyramidenkogel" and offers visitors a breathtaking panorama of the entire Wörthersee after climbing 441 steps. Originally constructed in 1950 as a wooden observation tower, a completely new observation tower was erected in 2013. In addition to two observation platforms one above the other and an event room at a total height of almost 100 m, it also offers the highest slide in Europe with a height difference of 52 m.

Velden

At the western bay of the Wörthersee lies Velden, one of the most famous tourist resorts in Austria. Directly on the shore of Lake Wörthersee is Velden Castle, which is considered to be the most famous tourist resort on Lake Wörthersee. Velden Castle is well known through the TV series of the same name "Ein Schloß am Wörthersee" which was broadcast in more than 40 countries. Even today international film stars regularly visit Schloss Velden for their summer vacations. Today Velden is considered a hotspot with a unique attitude towards life, which is very popular with visitors from home and abroad, with a wide range of top-class gastronomy, hotels and recreational facilities. This mix of Carinthian down-to-earthness of the alpine region and a great attitude towards life is immediately noticeable in Velden. Starting with recreation at the lake and several hiking trails, to adventure and lifestyle, Velden offers its visitors a wide range of leisure activities. Especially popular are the annual events such as the Fête Blanche, Pink Lake and the music event Starnacht.

Minimundus & Planetarium

The miniature park "Minimundus" is located on an area of over 26,000 m² and exhibits 159 miniature models of well-known buildings, ships and trains from all continents on a scale of 1:25. Originally opened in 1958, more than 15 million people have already visited the park. The net proceeds of the Minimundus Park benefit the aid organization "Save the Child", which is also the owner of the park. About one third of the models in the park show important buildings from Austria, the majority of the models cover the world's most important landmarks and monuments.

Wörthersee Stadium

The Wörthersee Stadium was ceremonially opened in September 2007 and passed its test during the Euro 2008. 30,000 seats have been available since the stadium was made permanent in 2014. The Wörthersee Stadium is the soccer home of the club SK Austria Klagenfurt, which currently plays in the 2nd Austrian League.
