Welcome to 1020 Vienna

Vienna's 2nd district, Leopoldstadt, has been experiencing a massive upswing for several years, which has been noticeable in many ways: from an economic point of view, a very successful settlement of well-known companies such as Bank Austria, SAP, Samsung, Raiffeisen Bank or OMV has been achieved. In the immediate vicinity, the office location Austria Campus was recently opened, which serves, among other things, as the headquarters for the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and the headquarters of Bank Austria. This increased demand for qualified workers is also increasingly met by the higher educational institutions in the middle of Leopoldstadt. Vienna's 2nd district is characterized above all by its diverse range of local recreation, cultural, educational and leisure facilities.

Micro-location Franzensbrückenstrasse

Nothing is worth more than a good location. The project "Franzensbrückenstraße 9-11" is located in the middle of Vienna's 2nd district Leopoldstadt. In the immediate vicinity are numerous local amenities such as supermarkets and restaurants, as well as a variety of leisure facilities. Due to the transport hub Praterstern (U1, U2, regional train and bus connections), which is 5 minutes away on foot, the location is excellently connected to the public transport network and the inner city can be reached within 15 minutes. One of Vienna's best-known attractions and recreational areas, the Vienna Prater, is just a few hundred meters away and invites you to be active as well as to linger.

Discover the surroundings

The property is centrally located in Vienna's 2nd district, Leopoldstadt, not far from the Praterstern transport hub and the popular Vienna Prater. The multicultural Leopoldstadt, Vienna's 2nd district, is separated from the city center by the Danube Canal. In summer, the trendy beach bars along the canal are a popular meeting place here. The two extensive recreational areas Augarten and the Wiener Prater also offer countless opportunities to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The Jesuit Meadow in the Prater in particular attracts many people and, as a former auland, invites them to relax. Also in the 9 km² Prater area is the Würstelprater, popular with young and old alike, with countless attractions and rides.

Vienna Prater

The area of the Vienna Prater, which covers more than 9 km², includes an amusement park, the so-called Würstelprater, several bodies of water and an extensive recreational area. The area belonging to the Prater, once auland of the Danube, is documented since the year 1162. At the end of the 20th century, numerous investments were made in the Prater's infrastructure. The Jesuit Meadow was converted into Vienna's largest playground with a toboggan hill and a winter snow-making system.

For over 100 years, the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel has been turning at the entrance to the Prater. The Ferris wheel is both a landmark and a symbol of Vienna. A curiosity of the Würstelprater is the Republic of Kugelmugel, whose only inhabitant had proclaimed an own state in 1970, because his house was a sphere, whereby the supporting surface is thereby only a point. However, since a point has no spatial extension, he believed that he was in a state-free space.

The Augarten, with its iconic flying defense tower and the Augarten Palais, is a park open to the public with the oldest Baroque gardens in Vienna and offers a well-kept parterre garden with elaborate floral landscapes as well as an extensive area crisscrossed by shady avenues of chestnut, armor, linden, ash and maple trees. The plain concrete tower from World War II located in the park is now closed to visitors, but offers a contrasting beauty to the rest of the well-kept Augarten and has become part of the Viennese cityscape. For the population and for tourists this offers a space for recreation, but also for sporting activities.

Danube Island

In summer, the residents of Vienna's 2nd district benefit above all from the proximity to the artificially raised Danube Island, which not only serves as flood protection, but is also one of Vienna's most important local recreation areas. It is an artificial island about 250 meters wide between the Danube and the New Danube and has a lot to offer for people, animals and plants. The Danube Island is a popular cycling route and is ideal for water-related recreational activities, such as the water ski lift. Numerous public lidos can be found along the banks, including the most famous of them all, the Gänsehäufel. Along the old Danube there are also a number of sailing schools and boat rental facilities. The dammed part of the Danube is used extensively by the Viennese in the summer to cool off.

The Karmelitermarkt, one of the oldest markets still in existence in Vienna, comprises 80 market stalls. With 7,500 visitors per week, it is one of the insider tips among Vienna's markets. The range of products on offer is wide: In addition to international cheese specialties and horsemeat, you can buy ripe fruit, crunchy vegetables and various organic delicacies such as smoked meat and various dairy products. The exciting food and young art make the area around Karmelitermarkt an exciting Viennese Grätzel.

Kunst Haus Wien - Hundertwasser Museum

The Hundertwasser Museum in Vienna is a fascinating architectural masterpiece designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Its unusual facade with colorful mosaics, irregular shapes and lush greenery immediately attracts all eyes. Inside, the museum presents an extensive collection of Hundertwasser's works, including paintings, sculptures and architectural models. It is a place of inspiration and wonder that attracts art lovers and visitors from all over the world. The Hundertwasser Museum in Vienna is undoubtedly an absolute highlight for anyone who wants to experience the unique art of this extraordinary artist.
