Friedensengel in Bogenhausen

The 38m high monument acts as the guardian angel of the Bavarian capital.

Marienplatz

Marienplatz is the world famous center of the Bavarian capital. Here you can admire the New and the Old Town Hall. For a long time there was only one town hall on Marienplatz, but the architect caused a stir with the construction of another town hall by Georg von Hauberrisser. The town halls hardly differed from each other and confusion arose as to which was which. The tower of the New Town Hall provides a magnificent view over the Old Town. Visitors also have the chance to climb the Old Peter which is a high tower and can be climbed only after 306 steps in a particularly narrow staircase. The monument "the Mariensäule" is placed in the middle of the Marienplatz. The resplendent column dedicated to St. Mary as the patron saint of Bavaria towers over eleven meters high. Munich's city history is closely connected with the Marienplatz and daily the regular chimes in airy height remind of it.

Nymphenburg Palace

This magnificent summer residence owes its existence to the birth of heir to the throne Max Emanuel. The heir to the throne Max Emanuel is the son of the Bavarian electoral couple Ferdinand Maria and Henriette Adelaide of Savoy who were born after ten years of marriage in 1662.
